Pay-per-Click OR Pays-to-Click

It appears Microsoft is attempting to revolutionise search.

There latest offering is to provide Microsoft users with cashback on purchases made when using Live Search.

Now this is an interesting and bold move by Microsoft and could just be the begining of next generation search, revolutionising the way users search for products. Microsoft supremo Bill Gates said the moves gives users “a reason why you should use a particular search engine”, he could just be right.

The idea to reward users who use Live Search to purchase items with cashback at a time when purse-strings are being tightened could just work. However, the big question here is just how long could this work for?

If this move is successful and does revolutionise search then don’t be surprised if both Google and Yahoo! jump on-board with their own versions.
